Lusoconnectionuk is proud to announce the return of the CPLP Summer Breeze Festival, now in its third edition, taking place on Saturday, 19 July 2025, at The Lighthouse Venue in Salford, Manchester.
This year’s event holds special significance as it marks 50 years of independence for four Portuguese-speaking nations: Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe. To honour this historic milestone, the festival promises a full day of vibrant celebration through music, dance, food, and cultural exchange.
Organised by Lusoconnectionuk, a Community Interest Company (CIC) that supports Portuguese-speaking communities across Greater Manchester, the festival aims to highlight the richness and diversity of Lusophone heritage while creating opportunities for connection across all backgrounds.
This year’s lineup features performers from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé, Brazil, and the UK, showcasing a diverse mix of traditional rhythms and contemporary sounds. From upbeat performances to soulful ballads, the festival offers something for every music lover.
In addition to live acts, attendees can participate in interactive workshops throughout the day, including Capoeira, Batuku, and Kizomba, as well as sessions for babies and toddlers, making the event inclusive for all ages.
The festival also features a variety of food and service stalls. Visitors can enjoy dishes from CPLP countries alongside flavours from other communities. Local traders will also showcase handmade goods, cultural products, and health awareness initiatives.
“This year’s theme allows us to honour the journeys of four CPLP nations that gained independence 50 years ago. It’s a moment to celebrate freedom, identity, and cultural pride, not just for the Lusophone community, but with everyone around us,” said Elisangela de Pina, founder of Lusoconnectionuk. “Through music, food, and shared experiences, the festival brings people together and highlights what we all have in common.”
